Tschafon Hut Hike

Walk toward the far end of the parking lot, where the bathroom is, and leave the parking lot by continuing along the road.

Pass the hotels of Lavina Bianca and continue to the trail fork, then take trail 4A slightly uphill.

After about 20 minutes, the forest road turns right while trail 4A continues straight through a wooden gate. Hike the short uphill section until the trail joins the road again.

A few minutes later, you reach a small plateau with a house, and usually horses and cows. Turn right and follow the road uphill through the trees.

In another 20 minutes, the hiking trail leaves the road to the right. You can stay on the road all the way to the hut, but you would be missing the better trail.

The trail runs along the right side of the road before crossing it again. It then traverses the valley side on a gentle climb as the views open toward the hills around Bolzano and the Catinaccio Group behind you.

The final section gets steeper. After a few switchbacks, you arrive at the meadows surrounding Tschafon Hut. Return to Lavina Bianca on the same trail.
